- 1 C orange peel, finely chopped (2 oranges) - 1 1/2 C sugar - 1 tsp salt - 1 C milk - 1 egg - 1 Tbsp melted butter - 2 1/2 C flour - 4 tsp baking powder 1. Boil the orange peel for ~15 mins in just enough water to cover it. 2. Drain, toss the water and mix the hot peel with 1/2 C sugar. 3. Mix the egg, butter, sugar and a bit of the milk together. Mix the flour, salt and baking powder in separate bowl. 4. Gradually add the milk and flour to the egg/sugar mix (alternating between milk and flour). 5. Add the orange peel to the mix. 6. Pour the mix in a buttered bread pan (cover sides with wax paper to make removal easier). 7. Leave batter in pan 20 min before baking. 8. Bake at 350F for ~75 mins. 2695 cal.
